Alongside four new Samsung Galaxy smartphones and the company's first foldable, Samsung also announced a refresh of its true wireless earbuds at their latest Unpacked press conference.
Garry McGregor, Vice President of IT and Mobile at Samsung Electronics Australia, says that “Health and fitness continue to be a focus for many Australians who are looking for technology that can help them track and monitor their wellbeing."
“With our heritage in design and connected capabilities and services, Samsung is uniquely placed to create wearables that can help people who want to live better every day."
“Whether it’s through premium sound, wireless connectivity, enhanced fitness tracking, or accurate GPS, our new range of wearables have been designed to seamlessly integrate with our smartphones, expanding their capabilities and providing Australians with an enriched Galaxy experience.”
The new Galaxy Buds boasts a slightly-redesigned charger case and a familiar, ergonomic look, an AKG-randed audio experience, 5.8pi dynamic drivers, support for wireless PowerShare charging, on-board Bixby and six hours of playback on a single charge with another 9 stored on the case.
Compared to the previous IconX, the Galaxy Buds drop the on-board storage that previously allowed you to extend the battery life of your earbuds by listening to music stored locally on the buds themselves. It's also a little unclear at this time whether the buds will boast any certification for water or sweat resistance.
Samsung Electronics Australia say that they’ll be bringing the new Galaxy Buds to Australia with full local pricing and availability to be announced closer to the local launch.
