Australian startup launches Tiller Kickstarter campaign

Australian startup Joan have launched a Kickstarter campaign for their new smart time-tracking and productivity accessory.

Called Tiller, the device sits on your desk and is connected to your computer. When you turn or tap it, an interface appears on your screen where you can scroll through tasks, and tap to start or stop a timer.

“What we wanted to do with Tiller was make time tracking much more accessible and immediate,” says Joan co-founder Edward.

“We intended for it to be a time tracking product. But as we kept working on it and using it ourselves, we found that the fact that it’s a physical object means that when you’re engaging with it, it brings a sort of mindfulness and a deliberateness to the work you’re doing.”

To bring Tiller to market, the team is launching a 30-day Kickstarter campaign.

Available in slate, gray, black, and blood orange, backers can get their own Tiller in exchange for pledges on Kickstarter for a super early bird price of $89, and Kickstarter exclusive price of $119.

“Tiller started as a way to scratch our own itch and has been entirely self-funded. Now, we’d love to take the product to other people who want a better time tracking experience,” adds co-founder Nick Hallam.

According to him, “we believe we’ve made a really useful and beautiful product, and we’re excited to not only bring it to market, but also create a community of conscious, creative folks who can benefit from and grow with Tiller.”

Tiller’s Kickstarter campaign will run from September 19 to October 19, 2017.
