ViewSonic have recently launched the 3DV5 pocket-sized camera in the US, and it will soon be coming to New Zealand.

A spokesperson for ViewSonic told PC World that the 3DV5 was initially supposed to be out in time for Christmas, but had been pushed back and would "hopefully" be available in the first quarter of 2011.

The device allows for 2D recording in 720p high definition, and 3D recording. Video can be played back on its 2.4" LCD without the use of 3D glasses, or on 3D-capable TVs and computers using red/cyan glasses.

The 3DV5 has a 5MP camera and only 10MB of internal memory, but supports SD cards sized from 256MB to 32GB.

The device has been selling for US$180.
