Microsoft today announced they have sold three million Kinect sensors worldwide, less than four weeks after the US launch of the device.
More than one million of these were sold during the three-day Black Friday weekend in the US. Black Friday sales have become something of a tradition, with electronics products being especially low-priced.
General manager of Xbox for Australasia, David McLean, said Kinect would be one of the biggest gifts for Christmas this year.
He said Microsoft was on track to reach its goal of five million by the start of 2011.
“We are extremely excited to see how consumers have responded to Kinect in New Zealand and around the world," McLean said.
Kinect has been on sale in New Zealand since November 18.
