Sony Ericsson's Xperia Arc and Xperia Play - also known as the 'PlayStation Phone' - will launch in New Zealand by the end of June.

The Xperia Arc has a 4.2-inch multitouch screen with a 854x480 pixel resolution and an 8.1MP camera. The back of the phone is concave, which Sony Ericsson said was designed so that the phone would better fit into a hand.

The Arc will have a RRP of $999 and be carried by both Vodafone and Telecom. The phone runs the latest version of Android, 2.3 (Gingerbread).

The Xperia Play has been dubbed the 'PlayStation Phone' by many, as it is the first smartphone to be able to play PlayStation certified games and have a slide-out gamepad that emulates a handheld game controller.

It will also run on Android 2.3, with a 1GHz processor. It only has 400MB on on-bosrd memory, but comes with an 8GB microSD card.

Videos of both the Arc and the Play are available on YouTube.
